Broad Overview

To support the Engineering/Asset Management lifecycle activities at the Wales Manufacturing site, ensuring high quality, effective risk management, budgetary control, planning and execution.  To ensure that engineering expertise is provided to the site and wider group areas where required, and to maintain Regulatory requirements and best industry practices at all times to ensure cGMP is consistently met and embedded in all engineering processes. To demonstrate and instil a culture of continuous improvement methodology in the group so that all personnel are developed and maintain a good skills base.  Develop and sustain robust systems and controls to ensure efficiency and preventative measures in place for equipment and infrastructure, managing capital infrastructure risks and projects, whilst leading change to success for the site.  Project governance and execution accountability for key infrastructure and equipment changes / upgrades, and should be able to support the wider group with technical consultation as required.

 

As a Sr. Engineering Infrastructure Manager, some of your responsibilities will include:

  1. Work alongside CMC to support the successful implementation of new products, where new equipment or infrastructure design or amendment are required. Provide operational engineering oversight, control and preparation of IMP Processes, equipment and facilities.
  2. Ensure the manufacturing facilities and equipment are supported by robust lifecycle processes, thus maintaining compliance and standards with current and emerging approaches/expectations.  Responsible for LIAT assessment on legislation changes that affect group infrastructure and/or utilities. 
  3. Provide technical input into validation activities for the site infrastructure or new equipment purchases – write, review, approve and execute studies as required.  Owner of group engineering procedures
  4. To work with internal stakeholders, and their departments, to provide engineering expertise to; solve manufacturing and facility equipment problems, and to identify root causes for failures and to develop robust corrective action plans to prevent recurrence.
  5. To provide effective and proactive site asset and infrastructure risk identification, management, and deliver on required mitigations
  6. Ensure robust maintenance programmes and processes are in place to prevent equipment problems, ensure critical equipment is being appropriately maintained and there are robust equipment life cycle programmes in place.
  7. To foster and encourage Continuous Improvement within the Engineering department and by example to the wider site. Lead process improvement initiatives and activities to influence change.

To be successful in this role, you should demonstrate:

  • Degree or equivalent in an appropriate engineering/maintenance discipline

  • Extensive engineering/maintenance experience in a GMP Biopharmaceutical or similar production environment (aerospace, automotive, food).
