Broad Overview
As the Director/Senior Director of Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) you will be responsible for the development and execution of HEOR strategies to demonstrate the clinical and economic value of SERBs US product portfolio. This role will generate evidence to support market access, pricing, and reimbursement, and you will lead cross-functional teams to integrate HEOR into overall business strategies.
As Senior Director, Health Economics and Outcomes Research, your responsibilities will include:
- Strategic leadership: Develop and implement US HEOR strategies for pipeline and commercialized products, from early development through lifecycle management. This involves evaluating strategic priorities, evidence gaps, and market needs.
- Evidence generation: Oversee and design HEOR studies, inclusive of:
- Real-world evidence (RWE) studies using claims data, electronic health records (EHRs), and patient registries.
- Health economic models, such as budget impact and cost-effectiveness analyses.
- Systematic literature reviews and meta-analyses.
- Patient-reported outcome (PRO) studies.
- Market access and reimbursement: Use HEOR evidence to support product value propositions and inform market access strategies. Prepare and lead the development and updates of value dossiers (e.g., AMCP dossiers) for submission to health technology assessment bodies and payers.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with key internal teams to align strategy and deliverables, including:
- Medical Affairs and Clinical Development: Provide input on clinical trial design and endpoints.
- Market Access and Commercial: Ensure HEOR data supports payer negotiations and commercial strategies.
- Communication and publication: Present HEOR findings to a range of internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership, payers, regulators, and key opinion leaders. Oversee the publication of research in peer-reviewed journals and at scientific conferences.
- Project management: Manage departmental budgets and oversee external vendor and contractor relationships.

To be successful in this role, you should demonstrate:
- Education: An advanced degree (PhD, MD, PharmD, MPH, MSc) in a relevant discipline such as health economics, epidemiology, or health services research is required.
- Experience:
- Requires a minimum of 10–12 years of experience in HEOR within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
- Experience in US acute care hospital launches and HTA submissions is required.
- Prior supervisory or management experience is necessary.
- Expert knowledge of HEOR methodologies, including economic modeling, RWE analysis, and comparative effectiveness research.
- Deep understanding of the global regulatory, HTA, and market access landscape.
- Proficiency with relevant data analytics platforms and statistical software.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to collaborate, influence, and lead cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment.
