Broad Overview:
To help develop and manage all Environmental, Health, Safety (EHS) and to deputise for the EHS and Site Services Manager for the EHS and Site Services (facilities) functions at SERB Wales to help achieve world class performance. To ensure EHS & Site Services department and help departmental managers to always maintain a state of regulatory compliance.
Proactively engage with all personnel to help guide and aid understanding in all EHS on the Wales site.
Responsible for the EHS elements for the Wales SERB site.  This includes Site, Health, Safety, Environmental including development of knowledge for Department Managers and EHS Ambassadors in all EHS matters.  To perform and aid on site projects and improvements.

 

As the EHS & Site Services Associate Manager your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
•    Produce and Review and approve site EHS Risk Assessments (COSHH, Manual Handling / Ergonomic, Fire etc.) for department and site including documentation reviews and Change Controls impact statements.
•    Perform audits, spot checks and external audits with employees, contractors, and relevant regulatory bodies.
•    To host external and internal audits with enforcing agencies. Ensure that any concerns are appropriately documented and managed to reduce any risk of enforcement actions.
•    Provide visible and proactive EHS leadership on the Wales site, help development behavioral attitude amongst employees, help engage and mentor all employees including EHS Ambassadors. 
•    Create, update and periodic to EHS documentation and ensure that all documentation and processes are ‘fit for purpose’ within the department.
•    Update and issue daily VFB information and month EHS Scorecard for Wales site.
•    Complete annual and quarterly reporting as required for the NRW and DEFRA.
•    Promote safe working practices and drive EHS Initiatives onsite including leading by example.
 

To be successful in this role, you should demonstrate:
•    Previous experience in a similar role is desirable.
•    Educated to degree standard in relevant subjects.
•    Environmental, Health & Safety qualification (IOSH, NEBOSH, IEMA) essential.
•    NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate desirable.
•    Line management experience essential.
•    Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks at short notice.
•    IOSH technical or certified member desirable.
•    Technical skills including data interpretation and reporting essential.
•    Risk and COSHH Assessments: Competence in performing risk assessments and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) assessments is essential.
•    Leadership and Management qualification such as ILM would be beneficial.
•    Good understanding of regulatory bodies and regulations.
•    Project management essential.
•    Computer literate and able to demonstrate a level of understanding of commonly used office software such as excel, word and PowerPoint.  Microsoft Project or similar desirable. 
•    Good understanding or working in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environmental and controls required equipment, processes, documentation etc. desirable however not essential as training would be required.
