Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and strategic medical leader to join our team as Senior Medical Lead for Australia & Strategic Affairs APAC based in Sydney, Australia. This role combines local medical leadership with regional strategic influence, supporting both in-market products and future portfolio growth across the Asia-Pacific region.
You will lead medical strategy and execution in Australia while contributing to regional initiatives, acting as a critical link between local affiliates and global headquarters. This position requires strong scientific expertise, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to drive impactful medical activities, including launch preparedness and evidence generation.
Key Responsibilities
Local Medical Leadership – Australia
- Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of local medical plans aligned with global strategy
- Drive medical strategy for registered products, with a focus on DIGIFAB and the rare oncology portfolio, including VORAXAZE
- Organise and lead advisory boards, expert meetings, and scientific events
- Build and maintain relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and institutional stakeholders
- Provide expert medical guidance on product use, safety, and risk management
- Deliver scientific training to internal teams
- Support evidence generation activities (real-world data, publications, clinical analyses)
- Contribute to regulatory and compliance submissions with scientific input
- Act as the primary medical contact for healthcare authorities and key partners
- Ensure all activities comply with regulatory requirements, company policies, and ethical standards
Strategic & Regional Leadership – APAC
- Provide scientific and strategic insights to inform decision-making in Australia and across APAC
- Monitor the competitive landscape, emerging clinical trends, and CBRN developments
- Collaborate with regional stakeholders to support evidence-based medicine and guideline development
- Contribute to the development and execution of APAC medical strategy, particularly in CBRN
- Represent the organisation at key regional congresses (e.g., APAMT, NCT APAC, NCT Pro, Milipol)
- Support regional initiatives in collaboration with the Singapore-based team
- Undertake additional responsibilities as directed by the Line Manager or Chief Medical Officer
Skills & Qualifications
- Medical degree or advanced degree in life sciences (e.g., biology, chemistry, pharmacy, engineering) or equivalent
- Proven experience leading medical strategy and execution
- Strong track record of engagement with regulatory bodies, health authorities, and KOLs
- Experience delivering advisory boards, scientific meetings, and external collaborations
- Experience in launch preparedness and rare/specialty disease areas is highly desirable
- Ability to translate complex scientific data into clear, actionable strategies
- Demonstrated success working in cross-functional, matrix organisations
- Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent communication skills in both formal and informal settings
- Fluency in English
- Knowledge of Australian and APAC healthcare systems and regulatory environments is advantageous
