Veterinarian – Serb Pharmaceuticals

SERB is a global healthcare company focused on Interventional Medicine with offices, laboratories and manufacturing sites Gloablly.  Here at Serb Pharmaceuticals our business provides lifesaving acute care products that help patients who have been overexposed to certain toxins or medications.

Reporting to the Senior Veterinarian & Livestock Manager, this position is for a permanent part-time veterinarian to join our team, where we manage the health and welfare of the Company’s sheep flocks and working dogs. This role is open to recent graduates and experienced veterinarians alike, salary commensurate with experience. Previous experience with animal production systems, quality management systems or quality assurance will be highly regarded.

This exciting role will give you the opportunity to:

• perform health testing, disease monitoring and treatment of disease conditions, from both the individual animal and flock health perspectives
• contribute to the maintenance of a strategic health and welfare management plan
• get involved with training employees in relation to health and welfare issues
• manage the preventative care and treatment of approximately 3 working dogs
• develop nutrition and pasture management interests

A degree or an equivalent qualification in Veterinary Science is a prerequisite, accompanied by a demonstrated interest in sheep production, sheep health management and pathophysiology.  All applicants must be eligible for registration with the Veterinary Surgeons Board of South Australia.

This is a permanent part-time with minimal sole charge, limited after hours – day duties only, weekends are 1:3 rota, with 5 weeks annual leave. 

This role is complemented by a remarkable work location – the beautiful Clare Valley in South Australia (1.5hrs from Adelaide). You will be working 15 minutes from a large regional centre, surrounded by the wineries and restaurants the region is known for. This opportunity provides you with a unique chance to gain experience with the health management of livestock in a commercial setting and an understanding of quality management systems, while contributing to the supply chain of lifesaving pharmaceutical products.
