The Regional Business Director CEE is responsible for driving sustainable growth across Central and Eastern Europe (excluding Poland) through effective management of distributor partnerships, market access, commercial execution and targeted business development initiatives.

The role also plays a critical part in expanding the company’s footprint in this territory, in the the CBRN segment, contributing to the positioning of the organization as a strategic partner to governmental and institutional stakeholders

 

 

As a Regional Business Director CEE, your responsibilities will include: 

 

1. Distributor relationship management (CEE – excl. Poland)

  • Manage and develop relationships with key distributors across the region (focus in oncology)
  • Define and implement clear commercial frameworks and annual business plans
  • Monitor performance and drive accountability across partners
  • Lead regular business reviews and performance discussions
  • Ensure alignment with company strategy, compliance requirements, and pricing guidelines
  • Consistent delivery against regional sales and profitability targets
  • Improved distributor performance and stronger execution across markets
  • Optimized partner network (right partners, right structure, right incentives)
  • Increased visibility and predictability through robust forecasting and reporting

 

2. Regional Business Development & Market Expansion

  • Identify, prioritize and execute growth opportunities across CEE markets (excl Poland)
  • Source, assess and onboard new distribution partners
  • Negotiate and close commercial agreements (distribution, partnerships, licensing where applicable)
  • Support successful launch and scaling of new products in the region
  • Expansion into new markets or segments with clear growth contribution
  • Strengthened regional footprint and market share
  • Successful execution of strategic initiatives (market entries, partner switches, launches)
  • Tangible pipeline of new business opportunities and partnerships

 

 

 

3. CBRN Strategic Development (Key Focus Area)

  • Drive business development in the CBRN space across the assigned region
  • Identify and engage with key institutional stakeholders (government bodies, defense, civil protection agencies)
  • Contribute to tender strategies and lead or support responses to major bids (including stockpiling programs)
  • Build and maintain a strong network within the CBRN ecosystem
  • Coordinate closely with global CBRN stakeholders (medical, marketing, governmental affairs)
  • Increased presence and credibility in the CBRN ecosystem
  • Successful participation in tenders and strategic programs
  • Development of long-term partnerships with institutional clients
  • Contribution to positioning the company as a preferred partner in CBRN solutions

 

4. Cross-functional Leadership & Execution

  • Act as a key interface between regional markets and global functions (Marketing, Medical, Regulatory, Supply, Finance)
  • Ensure effective coordination to support distributor success and business growth
  • Contribute to forecasting, budgeting and long-range planning processes
  • Provide structured business insights and recommendations
  • Strong alignment between global strategy and local execution
  • Smooth and efficient cross-functional collaboration
  • High-quality business planning and reliable forecasts
  • Faster execution of strategic initiatives across markets

 

5. Market Intelligence & Strategic Insight

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity and regulatory environment
  • Identify emerging risks and opportunities, especially in the CBRN landscape
  • Translate market insights into actionable strategies
  • Proactive identification of growth opportunities and strategic risks
  • Better-informed decision-making at regional and global levels
  • Ability to anticipate and adapt to market and geopolitical changes

 

 

 

To be successful in this role, you should demonstrate: 

 

Professional experience

 

  • Strong experience in international business / distributor management in pharma industry
  • Proven track record in business development and deal-making
  • Experience in CEE markets
  • Experience in sales, marketing, CEE market access (oncology)
  • Exposure to governmental / institutional environments (strong plus)
  • Ability to navigate complex, matrix organizations

 

Professional skills

 

  • Experience in alliance/partnership management or strategic cooperation
  • Knowledge of CBRN environments and risk management
  • Strong understanding of public sector, defense, or security ecosystems
  • Ability to develop and manage strategic partnerships across the CEE region
  • Project management and multi-country coordination skills
  • Negotiation and contract management capabilities
  • Business and market analysis to identify partnership opportunities
  • Knowledge of CBRN environments and risk management

The role is based in the CEE region (Prague or Bratislava preferred).
