Broad Overview
We are seeking a PharmD or APP-trained operations individual with experience in medical and/or scientific affairs in the pharmaceutical industry. The individual will play a pivotal role in supporting daily operations across the medical and scientific affairs organization within SERB. This role ensures timely, compliant, and high-quality support to both internal stakeholders and external customers, while serving as a key liaison with vendors, field medical teams and other department stakeholders. This position is critical to ensure seamless execution of medical and scientific affairs activities, strengthening the company’s ability to deliver timely, accurate, and compliant medical information and education to healthcare providers, patients and other healthcare stakeholders.
As Assistant Director, Medical-Scientific Affairs Operations your responsibilities will include:
Global Medical Information Support
- Serve as the day-to-day liaison with the global medical information vendor to ensure timely and accurate handling of medical inquiries.
- Triage all escalated inquiries and work with internal partners across SERB to ensure appropriate handling of customer service inquiries, product complaints and safety issues.
- Ensure monthly metrics reports are obtained and delivered to stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Work with medical teams to develop new standard responses and FAQs or update existing standard responses and FAQs utilizing up to date literature, compendia and other appropriate sources of information.
- Manage internal approvals for all medical information resources, including liaising with global teams to ensure compliance with local regulations.
US Medical Education and Grants
- Partner with medical education providers and vendors to support needs assessments, program delivery, and outcomes measurements.
- Coordinate and manage educational grant requests, ensuring alignment with internal review processes and compliance standards.
US Medical and Scientific Affairs Operations
- Collaborate with vendors supporting medical and scientific affairs activities, including congresses, advisory boards, and publications.
- Oversee contracts, budgets, and purchase orders for medical and scientific affairs initiatives.
- Support the field medical team with congress planning and execution.
- Manage operational aspects of advisory boards, including logistics, contracting and documentation.
- Support publication planning and management teams and vendors and organize quarterly literature reviews for key products.
Training and Knowledge Management
- Assist in developing and delivering US product and disease state training for internal stakeholders, vendors, and field teams on medical and scientific affairs processes and on relevant scientific disease state and product topics.
- Liaise and work collaboratively with therapeutic area medical leads and commercial training leads.
- Maintain and update scientific resources, literature compendia, and other reference tools for global medical team use.

To be successful in this role, you should demonstrate:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) degree required
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical industry Medical or Scientific Affairs or Medical Information roles
- Strong knowledge of medical information processes, scientific communication, and compliance requirements
- Demonstrated ability to manage vendors, budgets and cross-functional projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to distill complex scientific information for diverse audiences
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
