Broad Overview
The Supply Planning Manager is expected to work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain an integrated volume plan across Commercial and Clinical Supply. This role primarily supports Commercial / Clinical supply planning activities while also contributing to new product launches. The position plays a key role in aligning supply plans with business priorities to ensure continuity of supply.
Moreover, this position ensures consistent and complete demand-supply reconciliation monthly – integrating requirements to availability, liaising with the S&OP process facilitators to align all internal departments on risks and opportunities.
As such, the Supply Planning Manager:
- Monitors suppliers network relationship
- Leads the supply planning process for both commercial and clinical needs
- Fosters and maintains good-standing relationship with the Sales and Operational Planning process owners
- Key member of the Trial Team for products in development.
- Interlocks suppliers’ capacity to support business growth
- Contributes to process improvement initiatives within a rapidly growing organization
The Supply Planning Manager is in direct contact with the whole Supply Chain department. This position endorses the transversal business partner role with Commercial, Quality, Regulatory and Finance teams within this perimeter.
This individual is expected to work out of our Conshohocken HQ office on a hybrid schedule 3 days in office.
As Supply Planning Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Operational Supply Planning
- Establish and maintain a regular review process for supply plans against sales forecasts and confirmed orders
- Lead recurring Demand & Supply Reconciliation meetings, identifying short-term constraints and presenting mitigation plans to the business.
- Review KPIs with different suppliers and schedule regular steering committees
- Lead primary and secondary labelling operations for clinical trial materials in alignment with GMP and protocol requirements.
- Manage clinical kit packaging activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and on-time availability
- Oversee storage, handling, and inventory of clinical drug product (including naked vials), ensuring compliance with clinical protocols and GMP requirements.
- Inventory Planning
- Define the planning strategies at a “customer-sourcing unit-SKU” level based on forecasts and replenishment strategy (make-to-order vs make-to-forecast)
- Track and reconcile inventory across manufacturing, packaging, depots, and clinical sites
- Translate clinical study protocols into supply and inventory requirements
- Lead reduction of slow-moving and obsolete inventory by driving cross-functional action plan
- Products availability operations
- Coordinate upstream transport operations between suppliers and distribution warehouse(s) if necessary
- Manage supply forecasts, including creation, updates, cancellations, and communication in alignment with supplier agreements
- Administer purchase orders, ensuring accurate creation, modification, cancellations, and timely communication with suppliers
- Sourcing Network management
- Supply agreements setup and renewals in coordination with Legal and Procurement team
- Lead supplier steering committees to strengthen relationships, improve performance, and drive process optimization.
- Facilitate cost-of-goods revisions by liaising with the Supply Chain Director and suppliers for consistent and accurate information flow
- Manage clinical manufacturing and packaging network to ensure study supply readiness
- Operational and Financial performance
- Define necessary KPIs and report on weekly and/or monthly basis
- Support annual budget planning through detailed cost-of-goods analysis and supplier-level cost updates
- Projects
- Active member and facilitator for new product integrations
- Coordination with cross-functional partners for development and/or tech-transfers projects
- Coordination with Program management and Regulatory teams
- Serve as the owner of supply plans and timelines to ensure all product-availability prerequisites are met
- Systems and capabilities
- Roll out and strengthen key IT systems to help in supply planning activities in direct relation
- Partner with IT to automate demand- and supply-related data flows across digital systemsEnsure all master data is in place for uploading demand in different system

To be successful in this role, you should demonstrate:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply, Trade, Logistics or a related field
- Relevant experience in clinical trials / pharmaceutical products environment
- APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) strongly preferred
- Pharmaceutical products environment (GMPs and GDPs)
- ERPs good knowledge (SAP, SAGE, …)
- Microsoft Office solutions
- Ability to evolve in an international environment
- Good knowledge of the US healthcare supply chain
- Transversal management skills and ability to work with other departments
- Analytical, communication, networking and interpersonal skills
