As VP, Head of Rare Emergency Medicine Business Unit, you will report directly to the Chief Commercial Officer.

Your role will provide oversight to marketing, sales, and commercial development for current product portfolio and any new products. It is expected as BU lead, that all aspects of launch readiness are completed, aligned and ready for implementation at launch. You must have the required financial acumen to manage the businesses P&L, forecasts and all budgetary expenses. In addition, you will be responsible for building a team to ensure a successful launch that achieves corporate sales targets through the oversight and implementation.

Location: Living in either Boston and Philadelphia area.  Expected presence in office in either geography with time dedicated with customer facing teams.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Strategic Marketing Planning

    • Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with the product’s overall business objectives and target market.

    • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics for measuring marketing success.

    • Lead the development of annual and multi-year marketing plans, including budget allocation and resource management.

  • Commercialization Strategy

    • Develop a detailed commercialization plan to optimize product launch and market penetration in hospital settings.

    • Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to identify opportunities for growth and product differentiation.

    • Collaborate on market access strategy, including pricing, reimbursement, and distribution models.

  • Stakeholder Engagement

    • Establish and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders, including sales, market access, medical affairs, and product development teams.

    • Support the development of a KOL (Key Opinion Leader) engagement strategy to support product adoption and advocacy in hospital settings.

  • Brand Development and Positioning

    • Oversee the development and execution of brand strategy, including messaging, positioning, and product differentiation.

    • Ensure consistency in all brand-related communications and materials targeted at hospital administrators, physicians, and healthcare professionals.

  • Customer-facing leader

    • National Sales Director will report to this position.  Responsible for a launch plan that would expand the business unit to over 40 customer-facing resources.

    • Aligns on bottom-up account by account plans and develop implementation for exceptional pull-thru

    • Leads a team of Commercial Development professionals:

      • KOL Development and relationship building

      • C-suite interface for IDNs/hospital systems

      • Medical meeting leads for KOLs, symposia, Focus Groups, 1-on-1 interactions

      • Develops Fellows strategy for future growth

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

·     BA required; MBA preferred. Minimum of 15 years of commercial experience in hospital pharmaceutical/biotechnology sector.

·     Proven track record of establishing, building, and leading highly functional customer-facing teams (I.e., Sales, Health Systems / Key Accounts, Marketing, & Inside Sales).

·     A demonstrated success in building uniquely defining brand strategies throughout the entire product lifecycle from early development to post marketing.

·     Notable history of growing brand revenues and profitability.

·     Experience with launching new brands and optimizing existing brands.

·     Experience in the hospital and speciality brand markets.

·     Proven business planning capabilities and the ability to drive high performing teams to execute on plan.

·     Substantive business background by education

·     Travel requirement: 40%
